Your Responsibilities

We always look forward to our clients’ presence during the packing, loading, and delivery stages of the long distance move. Ideally, having a friend or a family member with you during these stages would be of great help should you need any assistance.

Centennial Moving has a long successful experience in the long distance moving industry. We are specialized in all categories of moves including customizing your move to suit your individual needs.

Moving Coverage Plans

Basic Liability Coverage:

Offers the minimum protection for your goods at no additional cost. The maximum basic liability of our company is calculated by multiplying the weight of a damaged item by $0.60.

Premium Liability Coverage:

When covered by Premium Liability Coverage, lost and damaged items won’t be replaced or repaired when you file a claim. Instead, you’ll be compensated $2 per pound per item. The cost of Premium Liability Coverage is 3% of the total weight of your load.
Example #1: the estimated weight of your belongings is 1500 lbs. The cost of Premium Liability Coverage is $45 (1500 lbs x 3%).
Example #2: the estimated weight of your belongings is 4500 lbs. The cost of Premium Liability Coverage is $135 (4500 lbs x 3%).

Valuation Coverage:

Under this plan, items are refunded in full (when the item is no longer functional) or their repair cost is refunded in full. Valuation Coverage applies only to items packed by the movers. Valuation Coverage doesn’t apply to antique items (over 50 years old). The cost of Valuation Coverage is $0.11/lb of the total weight of your load.
Example: The estimated weight of your belongings is 1500 lbs. The cost of Valuation Coverage is $165 (1500 lbs x $0.11/lb).

 

Note: $300 deductible applies to all claims.

Unloading Inspection

Confirm if the condition of the items matches their description on the inventory list. Alert the driver and comment on any damage or discrepancies on the inventory.

The Inventory

Our professional van operators always confirm the accuracy of the inventory list before loading your shipment.
While we hire only the best staff, it is ultimately the responsibility of the client to counter-check the accuracy of the inventory list. Clients must note in writing any discrepancies on the details of the accuracy of the list.

Guaranteed Service Claims

Such claims must be filed directly with our company within 7 days of your long-distance move. When filing these claims, attach the relevant receipts not exceeding $125/day or line-haul transportation.

Centennial Moving Company is NOT responsible for the following conditions:

  • Inherent Vice / Mechanical Condition Unknown
  • We are not responsible for any damage inherent to the item being shipped. Such damage includes any interior or exterior damage to electronic equipment unless such damage was initially noted on the inventory.
  • Climatic Condition
  • We are not responsible for damage caused by changes in climatic conditions beyond the carrier’s control.
  • Packed by Owner (“PBO”) Cartons
  • We are not responsible for damaged items packed by self-service unless the damage is on the carton. Clients should alert the carrier of any visible damage on the carton and note it on the inventory.
  • Filing a Claim
