Getting the right supplies is a must when packing for a long distance move to Ontario

Unless you wish to be dealing with flimsy, barely-holding-it-together moving boxes on your moving day, you should definitely invest in quality supplies. Luckily, BC offers all sorts of amazing quality moving supplies that should certainly find their way onto your list of packing supplies. But even though there are some “fancy” extras that are not a must but are nice to have, like cute, stick-on moving labels, or packing peanuts, there are also some packing staples that you should definitely get and also shouldn’t cheap out on. These supplies are:

    • Heavy-duty moving boxes
    • Strong duct tape
    • Quality bubble wrap
    • Markers

These basic supplies are enough to get you on the way to Ontario without any issues. That said, if you do decide that you can’t be bothered with packing, keep in mind that province to province movers, Canada residents love, use the highest quality supplies for packing their clients’ belongings. But if you still decide to pack for your relocation to Ontario on your own, know that quality supplies are a must for easy packing and safe relocation of your belongings.

Getting enough of each packing supply is also important

Being interrupted while packing by something as easily avoidable as running out of supplies can be so annoying. Plus, it can completely ruin your day and throw you off your schedule. That’s why it’s best to make a generous estimate of how much of what you’ll need to complete your packing without any issues. It’s always best to have a bit extra than not have enough.

Finally, get to packing for your move to Ontario from BC… Well, not quite…

So far you should be aware of the fact of how important planning is. The same goes for planning the packing itself. You shouldn’t start throwing things into boxes mindlessly. Of course, you could, but that would make packing for your move to Ontario much longer, more inefficient, and quite a bit messier. That’s why you should first consider:

    • What room you are going to start with
    • Which items are you going to pack first
    • What items should you pack together
    • What items you shouldn’t pack until the end because you’ll likely need them

Of course, you can go in whichever order you like. However, as a rule of thumb, you should start with rooms you use the least. It’s also good practice to pack room by room and start with smaller and more fragile items. Also, it’s good practice to group together similar items of similar sturdiness. And, of course, pack what you’ll likely need the longest last.

Now you can actually start packing for your move to Ontario

Now that you have everything and know quite a bit about best moving practices, it’s time to actually start packing. But, you might be thinking “Hey, Centennial Moving team, I’ve never packed. How do I ensure my belongings don’t get damaged?”, and if you feel this way, know that you’re not alone. Most people who don’t opt for relocation services Canada offers feel this way. Luckily, we’ll teach you how to pack your belongings, step by step.

    1. Set up a box you’re about to pack.
    2. Think about what you’re packing and consider if the item needs extra protection.
    3. If you decide that your item needs some extra padding, wrap it in a generous amount of bubble wrap. Keep in mind that soft and flexible items like clothes or plushies don’t really require wrapping.
    4. If you wrapped your item, make sure to secure it with duct tape.
    5. Then, place your item in the box you previously set up.
    6. Continue doing this until your box is full.
    7. Once your box is full, seal it shut with duct tape. Make sure to use enough.
    8. After your box is sealed, label it with a marker.
